creaking pedeal/shoe/cleat, any suggestions?dealy663

Hi,

My left shoe/pedal/cleat creaks. This has been going on for some time now. I've looked at the cleat and it isn't cracked. It only happens on my left foot. It is tightened down so tight that it can't be moving.

The shoes are sidi genius 3's and the pedals and cleats are campy daytona profits.

Any suggestions on how I can make this annoying problem go away?

Thanks,

I had the same problem with genius 3 and campy chorus pedals. After much experimenting and others suggestions I solved the problem.

Keep the pedals clean of grease and dirt and rub a bar of soap on the pedals where they make contact with the cleat.

The other problem could be related to the plastic spacer being badly worn at the front. Since you said it is only on your left foot and assuming that this is the foot you uncleat with at stops, a worn spacer can cause improper contact with the shoe and pedal creating a squeak.

Good luck.

The creak comes from the cleat rubbing against the shoe.
Even if its super tight its still flexes a tiny bit.
My sidi's (Bebop cleats) were driving me nuts until I read a post about this problem.
Spay lube between the cleat and shoe ( silicon,w40,ect.)
The only thing I hear now is the wind going through my ultegra wheels....sweeeeet

Unless you are possitive that the creaking is coming from your cleat, check to make sure your pedal is tight on your crank.
