Kevlar or wire beadSteven

Besides the obvious, the ability to fold, is there any advantage or disadvantage to a Kevlar beaded tire?
A little lighter, usually. And a possible problem...cory

This wouldn't be a concern to anybody with a modern bike, but I have a couple of oldies with rims that don't have hooked beads. I've blown Kevlar-beaded tires off one of those.

You will find that better tires are all kevlar bead, cheap tires are all wire bead, and the ones in the middle can be either. Kevlar is inevitably lighter, and so gets put in better tires.
