| Shimano Chain links | WiseGuy Aug 16, 2002 4:48 AM | | I need to be able to frequently and quickly remove my Shimano D/A chain. I was told by a friend that a connector link from another chain manufacturer could be used with the D/A chain, but he wasn't sure which link it was? Does anyone know which link can be used?
Thanks for all replies!! |
| Why fool with Shimano at all? | Silverback Aug 16, 2002 9:09 AM | | I'm not using DA, but I swapped all my Shimano chains (five bikes) for other stuff years ago, when they went to that stupid pin. No problems w/shifting or anything else. |

| re: Shimano Chain links | fretking Aug 16, 2002 4:25 PM | | The SRAM links, available just about anywhere, work well. There are at least 2, if not 3 different models for various chain sizes. Officially they are not supposed to work on anything other than SRAM chains but I use one on a 9 sp. (105) chain with no problem |

People must think I'm nuts since my drivetrain is always so clean. If they only knew how little time it takes to keep it that way... |
