Which stem do you use with a Easton EC90Slick21
Aug 13, 2002 10:15 PM
I was going to get a Ritchey WSC stem but I been told that the clamp diameter doesn't match, WSC(25.8-26) and the EC90 bar is 26. Does your system work? Any splinter on the bar from bad setup? Is it stiff enough for someone that weighs 180 lbs and sprint like hell?

Thanks
Ask me again next weekhrs

I've got them on my Bianchi with a Cinelli Frog stem and that works great, but that probably doesn't help since that's a quill stem.

I've got a Ritchey WCS on order (should be in today) for use on my new bike with the Easton bars as well. I had been unsure about it since the sizes are slightly different, but my LBS owner said it would be fine...that's the setup his wife rides and she has had no problems with it. Makes sense...slightly smaller diameter for the stem means good contact and as long as it's tightened to Easton's specs it should be fine. I'm about 185lbs (though I don't sprint like hell), you can email me if you want me to give you an update once I ride the setup a bit.

I've run a 3T Forgie for 1500 miles with no problem. I'm not sure if the 3T has a 25.8 or 26 but it works just fine.

I use a 3T Zepp with the EC90. The Zepp is spec'd at 25.8mm but it's a perfect fit - no marks on the bar. I weigh 180 lbs, but I don't sprint like hell. The bar is stiffer than the 3Ts that I've used.

I just measured the EC90s directly on either side of the stem (I didn't unclamp the bars). MY EC90s have a diameter of 25.6mm. The 25.8mm Zepp clamp is very secure.
