Brake bolt for carbon fork?(4 posts)

Brake bolt for carbon fork?OffTheBack

I'm trying to mount a new Chorus brake caliper onto an Icon Air Rail carbon fork. The nut will only reach the bolt if I don't install a star washer, and even then it feels like I only get one or two turns of the threads before it is tight.

No, I did not mistakenly install the rear brake on the front.

Do I need an extra-long nut or something? Is this a common issue wth CF forks?

Thanks for your ideas.

If it's a new fork, look real carefully at all of the packing material that came in the box. Chances are the long hex nut that you need is in there.

If it's a used fork or if you've already thrown away the box, your local bike shop can order the appropriate nut for you.
Used fork. LBS ordered nut for me. Thanks guys! (nm)OffTheBack
