What Dura Ace groupset do I have?Iwannapodiumgirl

How can one tell the year of a Dura Ace groupset? Are the codes on the individual items unique to a particular year, or is there a year of manufacture stamped on each individual item in an obscure place?

Any other ways of identifaction?

7700 series is 9 speed
7400 series is 6,7 and 8 speed

If you can tell me the model numbers on the crank arms and the brakes, I can tell you a lot more.

The group is 9 speed. Alas I am at work at the minute and my bike is at home!

Where is the model number on the brakes for curiosity?

Sorry for these silly questions. All my other bicycles are and have been Campag, and I have bought these groupsets. This group is on a bike at the minute I bought second hand, and I am trying to sell the group, hence the questions.

I note there are no button for Flightdeck on the STI levers, yet the shape is the "current" shape for STI.

If it's nine speed, it's the 7700 model series. 7700 nine speed was introduced in 1997. Flight deck for Dura Ace was introduced in 1999 or 2000.

Thanks.

Can you get non Flightdeck STI levers during the Flightdeck era?

I believe that you can get either now. I know that the 7700-C is Flight deck compatible with gear indicator etc on the computer.

You should look at the Shimano site to see what the 7700 version can do.

it looks like Shimano have been making 7700 for a few years. So I guess I am little confused.

Thanks for the comments :o)

Danka!
I speak German as well as Italian (my Dad's German, my Mum's Italian), so this site is most useful.
