i just got a giant tcr limited and it has a ritchey wcs seatpost on it. i'm thinking this might be a little harsh on longer rides, so i want to get a carbon post. however, after looking at a few online dealers, i don't think the road posts are long enough for my compact frame. should i get a mountain post?

Yes, use a mountain bike post. Don't discount titanium as a selection, Colorado Cyclist has a sale on the Alien ti, I have one on both my road and mountain bikes. The clamp is rather finicky but worth the time spent adjusting it. It's almost as light as carbon but has a greater degree of reliability. No impaled tendered parts.
are all titanium seatposts silver though?Iwannapodiumgirl

Does anyone know of any titanium seatposts that are black, as opposed to silver?
