hi
the Shimano PD-7701 pedal has a Fluorine Coated Claw to improve entry and release.
how long does this coat last ?
how easy is the release when the coat is rubbed off?
I think it is just marketingfiltersweep

My SPD-Rs have a "teflon" coating. Teflon cookware can barely tolerate normal use... and you are not to use "metal" on them... well the cleats are made of steel? The cleats will chew anything in its path anyway. I think for most people, SPD-Rs are a "love 'em or hate 'em" proposition, and they have a bit of a bad rep. I personally like them.
