Changing from threadless to threaded head setzray61

Can a bike be changed from a threadless to a threaded head set. If yes, what do you figure a LBS would charge to make the change?

Yes - you would need to purchase a headset, fork, and stem - most shops would probably charge somewhere in the $20-40 range to do the install - they might do it for less, or even free if you buy the parts from them (some shops install what they sell for free)

Most people who upgrade go the other way (threaded to threadless) - why are you making the change (parts are much more readily available for threadless setups)

Thank you. It is not the weight I'm concerned about but adjustability. It is much easier to dial in a bike with a stem/quill than with a steer tube and spacers. At least for me.
Threaded headset setups, harder to adjust but.......JS
