Chris King/Open Pro wheels...opencl

According to performancebike.com, these wheels (32 front and rear 3 cross) built with DT db spokes with alloy nips weight in at 1750g. Is this correct? It sounded a little high to me without skewers and rim tape. Anyone else has experience with these wheelsets? I saw someone posting Hugi/OP wheels (2x f and 3x r with DT db spokes too i think) weighting in at 1400+g. I know Hugis are slightly lighter, but does it make such a big difference? Thanks in advance...

1400 is very optimistic. 1750 does sound high. I would venture to guess they would be around 1600

1535 w/o cassette, tires, and tubes. Mine are 32H x3 King/OP's w/alloy nips DT rev front, 14/15 rear and velox rim tape.
how do you like them?opencl

Yeah, seems like the ones on performance is similar to your setup except for your front revolutions. How do you like them? Again, Thanks.
What will be lighterKerry

is your wallet. There's nothing wrong with these hubs, but by the time you add in QR skewers, you're going to pay an extra $200 over Record or DA, and not have any performance improvement or noticeable weight savings to show for it. (NOTE: King hub weights are advertised without skewers, Record and DA weights are advertised with skewers.)

my hugi/OP wheels do indeed weigh less than 1400 grams. 1360 actually! if one wants to be picky, i weighed them w/o skewers. with the ti salsa flip-offs, they still weighed 1440. they are much cheaper than the king wheelset and lighter to boot. where's the problem? if you want a pair, i can get 'em for you! 2x front 28h and 3x rear 32 hole with 15/16 spokes.

email me at mmerrill@sc.rr.com . i'd rather discuss $ where everyone else isn't a party to it! rest assured that your local LBS or catalog WILL be more expensive than I will!
