Braze on Ultegra FD -> 28.6mm Clamp(3 posts)

Braze on Ultegra FD -> 28.6mm Clampeoceneman
Jul 26, 2002 5:13 AM
I want to attach a braze-on Ultegra front derailer to a frame with a 28.6mm seat tube, requiring a 28.6mm clamp. Shimano has clamps for mounting braze-on FD's (i.e. sm-ad11 for 31.8mm seat tubes and sm-ad15 for 34.9mm seat tubes, but nothing, it seems, for a 28.6mm seat tube. Does anyone know what I use for the 28.6mm seat tube??

Thanks in advance for your help...

Your LBS should be able to get a Problem Solvers adapter clamp for you. QBP part # is DP6205. Retail cost is about $20.00 (don't blame me, I'm just the messenger).

bike nashbar sells the adapter for 1 1/8 tubing--i used it on my steel bike with dura ace and it has performed fine and looks decent--and costs less than $5.00
