GT road frames. Do they tend to run larger or smaller?TheSandman

I'm gonna be buying a GT road frame, and am not sure if a size 54 GT is like a size 54 of any other frame. Do GT road frames tend to run larger or smaller per given size than other brands?

I have a GT ZR 2.0, 54cm c-to-c, and found it to be consistant with standard frame sizing.

GT makes great frame sets, by the way.
Yeah. It's a damn shame that they're no longer produced....TheSandman

The frame I'm buying, the ZR-1, is no longer in production. I'm still buying it though, even though it's an orphaned product!

Actually they are still being produced but not widely marketed. GT (or is it Pacific Cycle) are selling the 2002 road bikes in Japan.

Riteway Products Japan, sole distributor of GT Bicycle in Japan, carried complete road bike in 2002 however, they are going to be dropped in 2003 as they are no longer produced. GT Bicycles failed partly because of their poor invetory control and they happened to have enough amount of excess inventory to fill the demand in 2002 probably.

I had the GT 5.0 road bike and loved it. Then I noticed a small crack up on the head tube, it was bad enough to complain to my LBS where I purchased it. It made me sick, I really loved that GT. Anyways, Pacific (who now "owns" GT) wasn't able to replace it with another GT, so instead they sent me, free of charge, a Schwinn Fastback Limited frame. What a sweet frame. I am VERY happy. Long story short, Pacific is honoring ALL claims and warranty issues with GT/Schwinn. I had no problem whatsoever.
