|just yesterday the plastic hood that has the Shimano logo and Flight Deck name on it came loose on my front shifter. how can i fix this? it was fine before the ride, yet somehow after the ride it was so loose that it was spinning on the shifter housing. i dont feel like loosing it and i dont wanna do something silly like super glue it....|

|Fell on entirly in the middle of a ride.
The "nose" is mounted onto a plastic clip, which is in turn screwed into the middle of the shifter. If you peer under the nose, you will see the black plastic of the clip running up the middle. Push a thin screwdriver between the end of the black bit and the nose, and prize them apart.
Then tighten up the screw through the clip (put a bit of thread lock or similar on it). Then put the nose back on - you have to put the top or bottom on first, I can't recall which, then push all the way on - you can see it from looking at the clip. You have to have some brake applied to clear the top of the hood where it overlaps the nose.
Hope that's clear!

|the nose is connected to the black clip you mentioned.
i found that it was easier to spin the 'nose' upside down. there is a clip on the bottom side that needs to come off
first. i realized this after almost breaking the thing.
