|Is there an advantage of the Stainless Steel over the Nickle Wipperman. Why the big price difference? Will the Steel be more durable (if I can find one in stock that is) or will the Nickle work adequately?

|According to Wipperman the stainless steel chain will last longer than the nickel plated steel model, but of course, its a lot more expensive. I got a 10 speed stainless model and was a little disappointed. It shifts fine, but makes more noise than a campy 10 chain. The side plates of the wipperman don't have the same shape and clearance bevels as the campy chain.
I switched back to campy, with the wipperman connex link as a connector.

|Last weekend on a climb, my Campy C-10 with a Wipperman Connex link snapped at the Wipperman connector link. The chain and Connex had about 900 miles. I am not sure what happened as I never found the pieces. Maybe it was a fluke, but I am no longer using the Wipperman Connex, and am now using the Perma-link.|| |
