ultegra brake levers & v-brakes ?philmb

hi all,
is it possible these days for ultegra brake levers and vbrakes to work together. i'm setting up a touring bike and this is my ideal, any suggestions on which v-brakes and model/year of ultegra levers that work?

doh... without the travel adapters

Tektro sells a "mini v" brake that is supposed to work with road brake levers, but it doesn't work to my satisfaction. You have to adjust the cable so tight to make it work that you have to loosen the barrel adjuster just to remove a wheel.

The most common solution is to use "Travel Agents." Most of the STI equipped tandems have them.

On my commuter bike I replaced the old Shimano 600 brake shoes with KoolStop mountain brake shoes. It will stop.

You need to address the mismatch in the leverage ratios. The product commonly used for this purpose is the "Travell Agent" or something similar. Not doing so runs the risk of not being able to stop when you really need to. You could run cantis.
