|can anyone tell me if there is a standard length for mtn vs road seatposts? The reason I ask is that I recently bought a bike for next to nothing and damned if it didnt have a ti seatpost. It was the same diameter as my road frame, so I put my ti flite saddle on it and switched them. The problem is that I would swear that the ti post goes about a foot into my frame. The post that came with my roadbike is nothing special and doesnt go very far in the mtn frame. So, now the question is if I want to upgrade the seatpost, would I be better off getting a road post, and putting the Ti post back in the MTN Bike, or should I get a new mtn post and leave the long post in the roadbike??? I dont have the heart or desire to take a hacksaw the ti post.
Thanks in advance.

|If you want it for your mountian bike put it there. If you want it for your road bike, leave it where it's at. If you want it for your road bike but the long length bothers you, cut it down. You will save some weight but it will probably be 10 to 20 grams if you do cut it down. LoL.|| |
