I just recently purchased a new set of Mavic Ksyrium wheels with a campy freehub (ED 10 I believe). What I want to know is can I run a campy 9 speed cassette (assuming I can find one) with a shimano drive train? If not, how easy will it to be to switch out the free hub? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I found your message timely....as far as I know you will have to change the freehub...so with that being said...I run Campy and am looking for a ED10 freehub body. I have a new pair of SSC SL Wheels with the Shimano Body(can' use).

Would you be interested in trading free hub bodies? Please e-mail me if you are - powderhound34@hotmail.com

Thanks

Why would you buy a NEW set of wheels with the wrong freehub?

The campy 9 cassette won't shift worth a damn with a shimano drivetrain.

You could get a loose-cog campy cassette and new (thinner)spacers to correct the spacing from campy's 4.55mm to shimano's 4.32mm. Then it would work.
