LOOK pedal platform adapters(6 posts)

LOOK pedal platform adaptersDave Hickey

I'm working on a single speed project and I want to be able to wear both cycling shoes and street shoes. Does any make platform adaptors for LOOK pedals? I've seen the adapters that have clips and straps but I'm looking for something that will convert to platform pedals. Nashbar sells adapters for SPD pedals but not LOOK. Any suggestions?

getting a set of mks platform pedals from Harris Cyclery, and just trading out the Looks when you want to wear regular shoes? I do that with my commuter. I usually wear running shoes and use the mks - which are real good pedals - and every now and then screw in the pro-fits when I want to go clipless.

That's an option. I'm trying to avoid switching out pedals.

You can just pop a pair of the black (0 float) cleats in the pedals. I do that when I ride on rollers and it seems to work alright. They pop out pretty easily with a screwdriver. You could also make your own platform if you wanted something bigger by just mounting a cleat to either a piece of wood or metal. That may turn out looking like something designed by Rube Goldberg though.

I was thinking of mounting black cleats to a piece of wood or plastic. I never thought of just the cleats by themselves. Good idea. Thanks
