Superflate CO2 or Zefal HPX 2MickEcho5

What's best? What size cartridge takes my GP3000's from 0 to 120psi? How many cartridges should I take on a ride? I have the Zefal pump fitting nice on my frame, is it worth changing? I hate pumping tyres. I have SKS track pump indoors.

A better frame pump than the Zefal. However, if you "hate pumping tyres" then maybe you've already answered your question. How many flats do you get in a year. Certainly you need to carry at least two cartridges, since you don't get a second chance after you've used one.

You need the 16 gram cartridges to inflate a road tire to 120psi. The Ultraflate will accept either 16 gram threaded or 12 gram unthreaded cartridges. 16 gram are more convenient, 12 gram are much cheaper and easier to find.

I just bought a new hpX to replace one that was at least 16 years old. The thing had probably pumped hundreds of tires--it was my only pump for several years, until I bought a floor pump, and still worked fine (I backed over it with the car). I also have a CO2 inflator, but I never really trust it--what if I make a mistake or have one more flat than I do cartridges? If I have to carry a backup pump anyway, I might as well leave the CO2 at home.
