|My bike has a quill stem, and in my constant desire to tweak and play with my bike to get it absolutely perfect, I am wondering if I can raise the bar height by way of the stem at all. It's a Cinelli quill stem...how would I go about doing it if I could? |

|Loosen the bolt in the top of the stem about 3 or 4 full turns. Tap the bolt back down into the stem. The stem should now be loose so you can pull it up. Retightening the same bolt locks it in place.
Examine the shaft of the stem closely. It will have a line or mark to indicate the minimum safe insertion point. Don't expect more than about 1" of adjustment.

|Turn the bolt on top with an hexa(Allen)wrench. Do not turn to much as the expander bolt inside will fall off. Force the quill up or down to the new position tighten the bolt.
