FlightDeck won't fit!(5 posts)

I have a four-bolt Ritchey road stem that seems to beefy for the mounting bracket to fit around.

Does anyone know if Shimano makes different mounting brackets for the FlightDeck? Are there any workarounds other than mounting the computer on the left side?

First off, the mounting bracket mounts on the handlebar not the stem but I'll assume the wording of your problem is just not clear. The answer is that they do not make different mounting brackets. What might work, and for mounting on the right side, is to use one of the bar mounts for a set of Cinelli Spinaci bars. With a few bits, a power drill and some ingenuity, you can convert this into a mount for the head unit.

I infer by your question that you wish to mount the FD directly over the stem. this would not seem to be possible with my Deda stem. additionally, the FD's bracket can't clear the wider center section on my Groove bars. it would seem that you would have to mount it off-center. funny, I thought everyone did that?

dont mean to belittle your efforts, but make sure that the bracket is mounted underneath the brake housing. i've seen several people try to mount it OVER the housing, in which case it obviously wont work.

... the poster is referring to clearing the faceplate on the stem...

The newer wireless mount is longer and will probably clear the face... I use a 3T Forgie and had the same problem with the older mount.
