Does anyone have any experience with the difference between the Record Pro-fit and Record Pro-fit PLUS pedals and a release difference?
I have a set of year 2000 Record pedals with the tension jacked all the way up. The cleats are new, and I still feel the release on them is too easy. When I first got them, they were very hard to clip out of on the high tension, now the stay locked pretty good, but it just seems the springs may be losing there integrity.
Does anyone else have similar results with the older pedals? How about compared to the new pro-fit plus?
they seem about the same to meColnagoFE

ProFit pedals were specifically designed to release easy but not come out by accident. The little "tilted wings" prevent release when there is pressure on the pedal - you release easy with no pressure, but pressure makes release harder. ProFit release gets harder as the cleats wear. Your clue that you need new cleats is that the release gets very hard. There are no moving parts in a ProFit release/retention mechanism. The clip that holds you in is an extension of the release/retension spring. Increasing the release force is just preloading the spring. Your springs have not, and will not "wear out."
