Scratch surfaces on rimsNoam

Hi There
I have a pair of Black Campy Montreal rims. This version was manufactured without a polished break surface. Now after using them for a number of years the break pads grooved ugly scratches through the black surface and into the alloy. Can the ugly surface of the rim be polished off nicely?.

Regards
Probably a bad ideacory

Rims, like everything else, wear out, and polishing the braking surface will take everything down to the MOST-worn point. I've never had a rim blowout, but I've seen it happen twice--the tire goes flat with a BANG, and one time a section of rim about 2 inches long blew out and hit another rider hard enough to draw blood.
Probably a bad idea - agree (nm)Kerry
