Just some random commentary to share. I saw it in person for the first time last week on a buddy's bike. He's a supreme weight weenie and claimed that replacing all his housing with it shaved 100g which sounds a bit much to me but... who knows. This is on a fairly large Calfee frame, maybe a 60cm. He has housing for the full length of his rear brake cable, but a front downtube shifter so no housing from the left brifter to the cable stop. Said it was a pain to install cause the little segments tend to slide off and go all over the place. I'd think one plus is you can re-add length if you decide you made it a bit too short, unlike cutting standard housing. The housing gleams brightly in person and has a cool articulated-evil-space-worm look... distinctive, but not sure I like it. Guess I'm just intrigued that there's actually something unique and overpriced in the heretofore mundane and under-developed cable market ;-)

Anybody here use it or work with it in a shop? AM Classic Guru, can you get me some top-secret industry data on the actual weight savings? Pictures on the IRD website

A buddy gave me the leftovers from a set he bought. It was enough for me to do shifter cables. Actually you can't make it longer, since there's an inner lining that would have to be lengthened as well. I find the housing too floppy as they don't hold a nice curved shape, but that's purely aesthetic. They are quite a fashion statement, though.

I have used it and it works fine. As for the top-secret industry data, there really isnt. It depends on the size frame and the amount or length of housing you use. I will tell you the times I have used it, it saved an average of 75 grams. But, I am a bigger fan of Gore Ride On systems Ultralight der Housing. It saves even more and is ultra smooth.
