|Can 105 components always be upgraded to Ultegra components without problems?|

|Current Shimano 9-speed components, 105 and Ultegra, can be freely interchanged and upgraded, but will have to have the normal 'tuning' when you do so. AND if you have a double, you can also upgrade and interchange with Dura-Ace.|

|You should not have any problems. I have a 105 groupo and replaced the bb, crank, chain, and cassette with ultegra. I did have a 105 bb, but it wore out after I installed the crank (got 8000 miles on it before it started to grind).
The front derailer needed adjusted alot after installing the new bottom bracket, so that was the only difference I encountered. The 105 shifters work ok, but I got the 105 derailer, because people on this site said the ultegra front derailer weren't that great.
I'm hoping at end of season to pickup an ultegra groupo at good price. My one LBS says shimano is talking about going 12 speed next year, so maybe the 9 speed will come down in price next year once they do that marketing move.
