I have a dura ace bb, and its works great except after a month or so it starts creaking and cracking. last time, I disassembled it, cleaned and regreased it and put it back. It was fine for a while and then at the weekend when I raced it did it again. Anyone got a suggestion as to how to stop this / or any comments (and don't say get an ultegra bb!!)

are your splines greased? lack of grease here would cause creaking. As a general rule: never grease a square taper bb (campy) and always grease splines. Hope this helps

Actually, that rule of never greasing a square taper bb is not true! You do need to grease it. In fact, Campy, who always said don't grease it, puts grease on straight from the factory now, as well as Shimano! If you don't grease a square taper, IT WILL CREAK!! Same is true for a splined system. So, make sure it is greased really well.
