Seatpost for Klein Quantum(5 posts)

Seatpost for Klein Quantumjpo
May 13, 2002 6:41 PM
Any suggestions for a light seat post with alot of set back for a Klein Quantum? It requires a 31.6 post size. What is the consensus of using shims to hold a 27.2 post?

Thanks
John

Thomson Elite. Its about the only one that will work with the oversized tubing. Thomson makes two types - with and w/out setback.

Does the setback Elite come in 31.6? I have not seen it listed in the catalogs in that size.

Thanks

That's what I have in my Klein right now. It has a minimum effective height of 80mm because the set back is on the shank. Unless your bike is too big for you that shouldn't be a problem.

I have a Klein also, never replaced the seat post, but looking into it there are many MB seat posts that are 31.6.
I believe that American Classic makes a 31.6. And yes, Thomson has a 31.6 (MB) and you definitely need a setback for a Klein. The MB post will just be longer and weigh a tad more than a road post...
