I have removed the left hand side adjustment collar and after cleaning added a drop of locktite. The bearings still loosen after every ride. I now have to carry the mavic adjustment tool on all rides just in case.
I'll make a guess.Quack

I actually have a set of Crosslink mountain wheels but I think they use the same bearing design and adjustment mechanism as the Cosmos wheels. It sounds like either your bearing on the left side is bad or the adjusting collar is being snagged by the hub body rotation. Either of these conditions could cause the adjusting collar to unscrew. I suppose if the skewer was extremely tight, it could cause the inner race the bearing to bind with the collar, but then again, it should also keep the collar from backing out. Maybe the skewer is too loose?? Who knows?

Good luck!
