I just got a new set of Ksyriums and it seems like the skewers are really heavy. Anybody ever weigh them?
Actually, they are depleted uraniumDaveG

Heavier than lead. I have not weighed them. You could do it yourself by taking to your local post office where I'm sure they have a decent scale.
They got it from the warliu02bhs

Mavic must have gone to Afghanistan or Israel and scavenged for the used shells.
Well....grzy

They work really well and keep the wheel locked in position. You could go with something made from titainium or cheesey aluminum, but then the wheel moves around. If the mavic guys could make a lighter skewer that was as strong they'd do it. Only tri-geeks obsess about the weight of their skewers. I have kinda of a spotty past and would sell you my Control Tech Ti skewers that weight something like 29 g. each, but you'd have to promise to keep it a secret. I also have a small collection of crappy skewers that just won't hold the wheel as solidly as they should - but they weigh even more than the Mavics.
