I installed Campy Eurus wheel set with new cassettes, and manufacture 8 speed spacers. The derailleur became noisier then before. It is a metallic sound. I don't know if I should purchase a 9 speed chain or 10 speed chain to help the problem. Can't find the cause of it. Only thing I could think of is the metal spacers in the cassett versus the plastic that cause the noise. Anyone want to give it shot?
Not likely the spacersKerry

Most noises are either due to the chain/pulleys not being aligned with the cogs, or due to the chain not being properly lubed. Since you likely have barrel adjusters on your head tube or down tube, try turning them one way or another as you ride and see if the noise increases or decreases. If these have an effect, then you don't have the derailleur properly adjusted. If they have no effect, then try lubing the chain. Is this noise in all gears, or only certain ones? It could also be that the derailleur is running too close to the larger cogs.

I just find out that I didn't install the first smaller spacer before the largest cassette. I don't know if that could cause the noise problem for the derailleur not to line up. I'll try to install in correctly then we can have a real test tonight. Stand Tune.
