|I just bought a used Merckx Arcobaleno frame on eBay to build up with the equipment on my old Bianchi, which sadly will be going out to pasture. The Bianchi has served me well for 17 years but has always been too large, and I've started noticing the weight more since I got my Gios.
After comparing the results of my bike fitting with different frame geometries, it looks like the Merckx century design frames are almost perfect for me. We'll see. I'll be building it up with an Ultegra group and Open Pro wheels -- and of course my trademark highwater stem.
The Merckx frame has a lot of nice features that an old fart like me can appreciate -- chrome stays and dropouts, pump peg, lugs, relaxed geometry, and a beautiful Carolina blue paint job. I'll miss the Celeste green, though.

|I too saw that Merckx frameset on ebay and was tempted but did not jump in. Congratulations and enjoy. Ah...classic steel.|

|I was watching that frameset too! i've wanted an arcobaleno for years, but the wife said no! it's an all-day ride that will perform with the best of the new tech stuff! i have a 6 year old corsa 0.1 and refuse to give it up! you'll love the frame!|

|I watched the Merckx auction for a week and figured it would get bid out of my price range. When it got near the end of auction and the price was still fairly low, I figured what the hell and bid on it. Call me a sniper, but I snagged it.|| |
