How do I change the position of my STI Lever?timfire

I would like to change the position of my shimano 105 STI lever, but I'm not sure how to loosen the the clamp to move the lever around. Would someone mind walking me through how?

Thanks,

First, you'll have to remove the tape from the bars. It helps to make marks on the bars where the clamps (not the hoods) are for comparison later. The clamps can be loosened with a hex wrench (I think a number 5, but not sure -- having a long set is nice). Peel back the rubber hood on the outside front of the shifter and you'll see a little canal. Stick the wrench down there and you'll feel the hex bolt. Loosen it with the wrench enough so it slides around on the bar. Be careful not to completely unscrew the nut (I have done this and its no fun getting it back in). Move the shifter where you want it an re-tighten.

Its important that both shifters are the same height, or you may get a sore back. Use the marks you made. I've also found that a carpenter's level works pretty well.
