Time for today's official stupid question!!!!........Rollingbones

..I've been an mtb'er for 6 years but am relitively new with the road thangy..so here it goes.... I wrench my own bikes and have had no problem figuing out the purpose and/or function of everything on the bike....except for ....errrrr..... what are those "fin" thingies on the brake pads for??? (and please don't give me any smart arse answers or say it's an "aerodynamic thing"..thank you very much!!)... Thank you for your time!!

They are for mud and/or water dispersion to keep the stuff out of the pad as much as poss...

Actually, it's a killer aerodynamic wind baffle that allows are to run over your tire without turbulence... he he he :-)

The "fins" help the Mavic guy change your wheel as fast as possible so you still have a chance to catch the peloton. Yep, they are wheel guides.
