Wilier Triestina Frames...Pedal Jockey
Mar 18, 2002 12:08 PM
Hello everyone,

I am not looking to buy one of these frames, but I was more curious if anyone has any knowledge about them. I first saw them on Zona Bici's website last summer, and now, Mercatone Uno is using them instead of Bianchi. They are sharp looking frames, and the all carbon frame is an interesting design. The prices are really good, also. For $1340, one could get an Alu frame with carbon stays. For someone looking for a unique frameset, these, along with Orbea, should be a consideration.

Thanks in advance.

Yes I had noticed them in the 2000 Milan San Remo.
I forget what team was riding them?
But I recently saw this on the Maestro site.....
"We regret we no longer stock Willier products as we have experienced breakage."

http://www.maestro-uk.com/

It was on their price list page.

Yup - mercatone uno switched back to wilier. bianchi took over the year pantani wone the TDF. Before that, mercatone uno rode wiliers.

Last year i think the only pro team riding them was liguidas. i'm not toally sure about this. years ago i think kelme rode them as well.

obviously i have a bias, but they are great bikes. i'm not sure about the reference to frame breakage, but the bike has been very good for me.
