|Hi Is it possible to over tighten the lockring on rear hub and do damage to hub internally?Thanks|

|yes, if you overtighten the adjustment ring, it will bind and damage the bearing.|

|Are you asking about the lockring for the cassette? Make it tight enough to keep the cassette tite.
The adjusting ring on the non drive side is to take the shake out of the hub bearings. If you tighten it more than what is required to remove wheel shake, yes you will damage the bearings. If you have tightened it too much, remove the wheel from the bike. Turn the adjustin ring several turns CCW as you look at it from the non drive side. Remove skewre, thump the axle end with a hammer handle moderately. Check for shake in axle.If none , back off the ring some more and repeat. Maybe thump a little more sharply. There should now be shake. Replace everything in bike. Tighten skewer and gradually tighten the adjusting ring until shake in hub is gone. Easier did than explained.
