Custom wheel advice...(3 posts)

Custom wheel advice...Kyle

I need a new front wheel, mainly for training but also for the occasional race. I weigh 155# and the roads I ride on are probably average in condition. I never sprint (at least so that anyone would notice.)

My idea was to do a Mavic Open Pro CD rim, 28 Revolution Spokes and a D/A hub. Strong enough?

Thanks

This question is asked 2000 times a month... And, to answer your question, that would be a fine wheel, provided you had it built by a reputable builder (CC, excel, etc).

Ride hard (and sprint more, it's good for you)

And if you have any doubts, you could go with a 32h rim. It's just four more spokes.
