Interesting, but I am even more interested to here from the guys in the trenches, pushing the peddles on the Weekends - Weekdays, no sponsorship. What do you use???What works? What was a painful mistake?

Feb 14, 2002 10:17 AM | | Bad mistake: Sella Italia Novus...with the cutout. Hard as a rock. My old turbomatic was trashed in a wreck, so to appease my wife, I tried one of the cut-out, penis-friendly, type saddles. On an 80 mile ride - after 500 miles on the saddle - the chafing left a perfect outline of the saddle on my a**.
Best saddle: I've tried others, but I keep coming back to the Sella Italia turbomatic. I'm on #3 now (#'s 1 & 2 bit the dust from pavement skating). On the previous thread, I smiled when I read of all the pro's that use the turbo. Great saddle.
I've tried the above, plus a MTB saddle, and a few others. All expensive mistakes. go for the turbo |

Feb 15, 2002 6:11 AM | | Nothing fancy but it works and works well. If you look closely at alot of the Pro bikes you will see it Jalabert, Ullrich and others.
No bad mistakes I have tried SI flite and San Marco HDP. Nothing wrong just not as comfy as the Turbo Matics. |

Worst mistake: Leaving the stock over padded Bianchi saddle that came on my Pista. Replaced it with a Flite Ti (you don't spend a lot of time on it-on the track). |

Feb 20, 2002 7:29 PM | | Alas, my favorite saddle, the Turbo, was discontinued about 10 years ago. The Turbomatic though is a very worthy replacement and I have them on all of my bikes. |
