Anyone have any experience with this type of problem? I had a rim split at the seam where the rim is put together...

Not necessarily a true "failure". Used to be a time when virtually all rims were mearly held together with a metal slug inserted into each end. Once the wheel was built the combined spoke tension kept the rim in circumferential compression. Welding the two ends togehter is a more recent development. Now if your weld has actually failed then there may be cause for concern since there may not be a slug of metal (or pins) keeping everything in alignment. Rims are just long straight extrusions that have been bent into a hoop. You may want ot querry the Cane Creek techie folks directly.

Mine started having ringing sound, they replaced the rim after I had the wheel a year or so.
Also had a MTB rim replaced free after I rode the crap out it for years. Great company to deal with!

Wouldn't it be more accurate to say great company/sh!ty products? Ulttmately a great company isn't made on it's free replacement policy for inferior products. Had they done it right the first time you wouldn't need any replacements.
