I was looking thru an old VeloNews issue from 1999 and seen an ad for a new pedal which made all kinds of wild claims. Basically, you could run a gear or two higher at the same physical output. They have a website = www.power.no/ It's a European company. Ive tried emailing them but get no response. Does anyone know somebody who has these pedals, or were they just a big joke that soon dissappeared or what? They certainly look interesting anyways.....

(disengage sarcasm). You'll note that they haven't exactly taken the world by storm. Another (possibly crackpot) invention in a long line of breakthroughs in cycling - the patent literature is full of these things, dating back to the late 1800s. Most of them never go anywhere. PowerPedals appear to have met a similar fate.

I saw a pair at a bike shop last October in Columbia, SC while doing a half marathon race there. At 435 dollars I had to look at them. First impressions, they are VERY heavy, and spin only in the forward direction(I guess that is the point). But for that kind of money forget it. I havent seen anybody using them.
