Squeeling brakes(2 posts)

I just put a set of Rolf Vector Comps on my 'cross bike as a set of road wheels. Unfortunately, I assumed the rims were the same width as the CPX-21s that I was using previously. They are, in fact, quite a bit narrower. As a result, the canti brakes hit the rims at a wierd angle (and below the braking surface) and wore out the brake pads. I put new brake pads on, and adjusted them properly, but now my brakes squeel like Ryan O'Neil in "Deliverance". I tried cleaning them with acetone and sanding them with wet/dry, but the squeel still persists, and it is LOUD. Any ideas?

To help the squealing, toe-in the pads just a bit. That is, adjust pad so that the front end of the pad is closer to the rim. This should help greatly, hopefully completely.
