Am trying to decide whether to get aero bars or not. could someone please give me their input bad or good. have been riding for 7 years. any help would be helpful

The obvious advantages are aerodynamics and comfort. The disadvantages are weight and you can't race in crits or road races. A mild disadvantage is control while riding in a crosswind. Easton was recommending to not use them with their carbon fiber handlebars.

Aero bars are quite helpful for most riders in time trials, and do give you another position for long road rides. The key question to answer is why you are considering them. Once you have sorted that out, it's much easier to offer advice.
