i have a computer that has the cadence feature. i need a magnet for the crank arm to make the cadenace work.
i tried a regular household magnet and that didnt work.
what would you suggest? and where would i get one?

|Most any magnet should work. You can test it by moving it up and down close to the pick up. That long pick up wire can be bad too.
The hard part is finding a way to attach it so that it will stay on your crank and just barely miss the pick up. I've got to say that finding these little miscellaneous bits and pieces is one of the most frustrating parts of my job. Good luck.

|Try this: Find a small (~1/4") disk shaped magnet, I use the generic spoke magnets my LBS carries, grind the back side of the magnet down flat. Super-glue it to the inside end of the left pedal spindle. Mount the sensor so that the window is within 1/8th" of the magnet. This works great on my two Cateye Astrales. NO need for cable ties or straps around the crank arm which will eventually cause corrosion.
