Anybody have Tektro 425a brakes on their bike? Are they Crap?

Also does anybody know what the BB size is on a 98 GT frame?

1. Whenever a manufacturer looks for a place to save $5.00 on the cost of a bicycle, one of the first places they go is to the brakes. The Tektro's wholesale cost is about $5.00 or $6.00 less than a Tiagra set. I don't think they are finished as nicely which means the two arms won't move in unison as nicely as the Shimano.

2. Bottom brackets are sized by BB shell width and spindle length. Almost all road bikes have a 68mm BB shell. The spindle length, with very few exceptions, is determined by the crankset you are using.

if I had a choice between 105's & Tekto's, I should pick the 105's? I found both on "sale" @ $35 F&R.
I'm building a beater winter bike.

Thanks
