minus the weight, +++++slow-ron

I weigh 200 and I bought Velocity deep v's for the added strength of the v cross section. They are easy to lace up (not as easy as Mavic) and are bullet proof through two seasons but they do weigh a lot. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 530g, I think. Unless you weigh 250+ I would consider the aeroheads because they're a bit lighter, or look at the mavic CXP v rims to lighten the load. just my 2 cents.

at 200+ I have found the razors very durable. I have a hard time telling the difference between them and my open pros.
Strong enough to break alloy nipples...Retro

Local shop built me a set of Deep Vs for my Allez last spring, when I weighed 260 (down to 219 now, thanks) and couldn't keep spokes on it. The rims and wheelsmith spokes have been bulletproof--but he used alloy nips, and I've snapped three or four of those. Just riding along, as they say, and PING. Damn 130-pound mechanics anyway.
The good news, I guess, is that even with a broken nipple, the rims are stout enough to stay true--I didn't have to loosen the brakes or do anything but ride home.

i think they are great rims, but all those shop guys will frown at these because they are not Mavic. To them, morons, mavic is the only choice..that makes me wanna take a f***ing gun out and shoot motherf***ers in the ass. Yes, the rim joint is not the highest quality and often is uneven, but that varies from rim to rim and most important rims like aeroheads are lighter than most if not all mavic clincher rims, no creaking at the eyelets or the rim joint either. EAT THAT MAVIC. triangular profile gives more stiffness, not sure if thats measurable though.

Woof, honey producing bee.
don't hold back man, tell us how you really feel... nmjaybird

I am not into techie stuff as much as some ppl here, but I am pretty sure its not welded. Can someone back me up on that?

Woof the velocity dawg.
