|I recently bought a 1996 Klein Quantum frame and fork and wanted to put some ultegra brakes on it. I bought some new ones (2001). the rear brake goes on fine but the front brake does not. The machined brake hole on the Klein is too small to take the inset nut that came with the brake. the bolt is ok and is a good lenght. Is this peculiar to Kleins of that era and if so, what can be done? A small nut that will still fit the bolt or do I need another type of brake. If I do, can still use the new rear ultegra with a different front brake.

|I think there are skinnier binder bolts. check with a trek dealer for the one that is used with the Icon carbon fork. www.kleinbikes.com may also be able to help.Different brake isn't the answer.|
