anyone know if its possible to adjust the reach of road brake levers? i have a 2nd hand bike.. old stuff.. exage 300EX .. is the reach adjustable? non sti BTW.. thanx

But a quick inspection of the lever will show you whether there is an adjustment screw somewhere that allows a change in reach. Campy levers often have the quick release in the lever, which changes the reach (and the amount of pull required to engage the brakes). It's an "in or out" position, so not really an adjustment. Over the years, some brands have had an adjustable feature, but it's not common. If you can't see anything on inspection, it won't be hidden deep in the lever.

Pull the lever down, glue something to the top of the lever, and the lever won't go all the way back to its original position. Maybe crazy glue a flat piece of metal or tape a folded piece of paper if you want to try it out before doing something more permenant.

I havn't done it nor heard of it being done...it just came to mind and I don't see why it wouldn't work.
