Ass stains on riding shorts(18 posts)

Ass stains on riding shortsBernie
Dec 9, 2001 1:26 PM
How do I get rid of these unsightly stains on my riding shorts. I find that my ass really gets ground into my shorts when mountain biking. After some time, the stains now appear to be permanent. Can I do anything about this?
you mean bacon strips? nmsecourir

... kinda reminds you of what you are don't it???

Since your ass is permanent, so are the (skidmarks) stains... as long as you're sanitary about it, you're talking about essentially inert material (the bio component should be killed off in the wash) and I wouldn't worry about it (unless you've been really bad and built up a ridge!!!)

Aside from that, a mild scrubbing with a bit of concentrated detergent (a paste made with a bit of water) by hand will get rid of some of the evidence... however, be warned, repeated washing will accellerate the deterioration of the pad material... and too much soap residue in the pad could cause an allergic reaction.

For me, I'm happy just being alive... and can deal with my biological nature (poopin' pissin' spittin' sheadin' etc.) as long as I'm halfway sanitary 'bout it.

We abide.

The best way to get rid of skid marks from you shorts is not get any. Clean really good with baby wipes BEFORE puting on your shorts!! A good time to apply some 'lube' too(butt butter, etc.) Put some baby wipes in your gear bag (in your car/truck) in case you need to 'freshen up' away from home.

I'd like to thank those who left suggestions. At eighty dollors plus for Pearl Izumi shorts, I'll just have to live with the discoloration left by my ass. Now, there's the issue of the nylon lycra material on the part of the short which covers my crotch becoming thin and transparent. Thanks again for your support and suggestions.

While on the bike, no one can see that area, right?

Off the bike, like before/after riding, I take along a pair of big baggie black sweat-shorts. Covers everything up nicely.

Save them for summer use -- air conditioning.

Seriously, I did get some good ideas here. Next time I go on a bike tour, instead of looking for a stream or body of water to bath my ass in (can't bring to much clothing with ya on a bike tour, got to keep the shorts you have clean), I'll just reach for a my small travel package of baby wipes. Thanks for the input. Bernie.

Boy the only way I know not to leave skid marks on my shorts is to wipe your ass really good, get that angel soft way up in there and clean until there's no more brown stuff. PS your shorts must smell really good

Isn't cheese just really congealed fat (i.e. grease)?

One man's grease is another man's cheese.
