Wanted... TCR/Mike Burrows carbon postLittle Pooter
Nov 19, 2001 9:40 AM
I am considering upgrading to one of these Carbon posts found on Giant's TCR series. I currently have the OCR 1 and assume the TCR post is 27.2 and would work fine with the reducer shim stock on my OCR. Am I right or would there be issues with the carbon/shim interface? I require an extension from seat rails to seat clamp of 6.75". Can anyone tell me which # post I require, as these come in a variety of lengths due to the aero section.

Any for sale out there?? Let me know. Thanks again

I have a Burrows #3 post that I would sell. I know that the overall length is 300mm (center of rails to bottom of post) If your interested, I would sell the post for 50 bucks. BTW, the TCR's use a shim to acheive the 27.2. No problems involved.

If you go to the link below it will tell you how to compute the size you need. Don't know why they don't have it on the US site, you have to go to the Australian site. Check eBay for the seatposts. You can usually find one for around $45. It is a 27.2 in size, and will make a difference in the ride like you wouldn't believe. You can actually feel the post flexing on big hits.

I ended up getting a decent price from my local shop, and I needed a size 2. They pulled it off a 2002 TCR 1. I noticed that there seems to be a difference in the head from the older ones?... the one I got has two separate cross members to clamp down on the top of the rails, one for each bolt. I think the older ones had one larger piece that clamped down like most two bolt seatposts (Thompson). Do you think this is a weight saving measure?? Just curious.
