Can anyone offer a short review of these? I am looking for a thorn-resistant tire that doesn't weigh a pound to combine with Spin-Skins.

I have a little over 100 miles on my Axial Carbon's after putting around 1400 miles on a pair of Conty GP3000's. I wanted something that would be more durable, but still not that much heavier. So far I really like the tires. I know they are heavier, but in climbing and sprinting there doesn't seem to be a great difference between them and the Conty's. Plus I think they actually ride a little nicer (softer). Very pleased so far.

I've been riding them for ~1200 miles now - overall, nice tires - not as smooth riding as the Axial Pro, but pretty good! Though we don't have a thorn problem here we do have alot of little pieces of glass which tend to get picked up by the tires and work their way through to the tube - I have found the carbons to be somewhat more resistant to glass cuts, etc. than other tires I have used - about comparable to Conti Ultra-2000's, but with stronger sidewalls (my last set of tires - the carbons do give a nicer ride than these). I'd say give them a try!

Ditto with everything Dr D said.

I've been using them for about 2k and so far they have held up well. One thing about these is I don't think they have the silicum compound that the Axial pro or Supercomp (no longer made but the best all-around tire I've ever used).

I'm not a big Vittoria fan, but I used a pair of Rubino Pros over the summer and wore them out without a single flat. Great tires.

Bottom line is the Carbon Axials are very good skins.

I'm using Axial Pros with Spin-Skins and have had very
good results. We have alot of road debris here and have
not had a flat yet! Knock on wood!!
Thanks all - I'll give 'em a try.Crankist
