|10 speed on old campa hub||ger|

|I have a set of old Campa Zonda wheels with 8speed body.
20 standard spokes front and rear.
I want to use this wheelset with Campa 10 speed so I need to change the body. Campa says changing bodies can only be done with the standard hubs and not with the Campa wheelsets.
I notice however no difference between the Zonda hubs and standard hubs except for the number of holes.
Can anyone give me advice?

|Check their webpage at www.branfordbike.com. If you can't find an answer there, call them. They are THE source of information for Campagnolo compatibility issues. With that said, I think I can answer your question. If I recall correctly, the answer depends on the style of hub on your wheels. If you have the newer straight pull spokes you're out of luck; if you have the conventional elbow spokes then you should be able to swap a 9/10 speed cassette body onto your wheel. Campagnolo says no, but it's been done successfully. I have a set of older Shamals that I need to change as well, but I just haven't gotten around to it yet. Branford has told me that my wheels (with elbow spokes) can be rebuilt with the 9/10 speed cassette body.|| |
